Join us for a guided walk through the Ferrari Garden, Pepa’s Karst Garden, and Pepa’s Story, where you will discover the unique features of the Karst landscape, local culture, and traditional life.
The Ferrari Garden and the villa were designed and built before the Second World War by Dr Maks Fabiani, one of the greatest Slovenian architects and urban planners, and then mayor of Štanjel. With its terraced layout, carefully selected plants, and remarkable water system, the garden is still considered an outstanding cultural and architectural monument of the Karst and of Slovenia.
In the courtyard of the Bunčetova homestead in Dutovlje, you will find two gardens that have been recreated by experts: Pepa’s Karst Garden and Pepa’s Story. After visiting them, Pepa will show you how rural life was in the Karst not so long ago. As you walk through the “gmajna” grasslands, she reveals the secrets of the landscape and the stories of strong village women. Among the picturesque Karst vineyards, Pepa sets out a traditional Karst-style picnic and invites you to enjoy local specialities prepared by Karst producers.
