In the guided tour Stories and wine through history the guide will unveil the secrets of the stone alleys and courtyards where the millennia-old stories of the Karst are tossed about by the Bora wind. Together you will walk past the Karst House, climb up to the Gledanica Archaeological Park and make your final stop at the terrace of Štanjel – the Ferrari Garden, which Max Fabiani put on the European map of architectural excellence in the 1920s and 1930s as part of the renovation of Villa Ferrari. In the end of a tour, at the Štanjel Castle Wine Shop, you will make a toast with premium wine, to which the Karst soil lends a tantalising flavour and edge. The price for the guided tour and a wine degustation is 17,00€.
In the experience Architectual beauty and Karst delicacies you will stroll through the narrow stone alleys and admire the main attractions of this pearl of the Karst: the Church of St Daniel, one of the key monuments of Gothic architecture in the Karst, with its distinctive lemon-shaped bell tower, the Roman Karst House with its ethnological collection and the famous Ferrari Garden. At the end of the guided tour, experience the Karst with a glass of Teran and homemade prosciutto at the Grajžarjeva marenda snack bar. The price for the guided tour and a degustation is 27,00€.
On the guided tour of the exhibition The nature and man in the Karst and Karst in colour and in verse, the local guide will take you through Štanjel Castle Museum, where you will touch the karst stone, feel the power of the Bora wind gusting at 120 km/h, and discover the unique water supply system in Štanjel as well as the natural treasures of the Karst. The guide will later on take to the Gallery of Lojze Spacal to visit an exhibition of select works by three painters from Trieste: Lojze Spacal, Klavdij Palčič and Franco Vecchiet.
