Experiencing the Karst, its culture and nature.
Want to feel the power and brisk coolness of the Bora wind? You can encounter the Bora wind in Štanjel Castle every day as the exhibition also features a wind tunnel where this local “sorcerer” will clear your thoughts and “blow you away”!
An interactive exhibition at the Štanjel Castle Museum touches all the senses. Touch the karst stone, feel the power of the Bora wind gusting at 120 km/h, and discover the unique water supply system in Štanjel as well as the natural treasures of the Karst.
The lives and stories of the inhabitants at the crossroads of the Slavic, Germanic and Roman worlds are something special. The collections of Blaž Vehovar on the theme of the Karst Shepherd breed of dogs, and the finds from the hillforts and from the period of the Cobenzl family, as well as the exhibits from the Škocjan Caves Park, are as fascinating as the views from the Ferrari Garden, the Gledanica Archaeological Park or a stroll through the mysterious alleys of Štanjel.
