Experience the art of Lojze Spacal, who took his motifs from the Karst environment.
The medieval Štanjel invites you to a genuine Karst setting to experience the art of Lojze Spacal who took his motifs from the Karst environment. You can upgrade the interpretative walk with a relaxed creative session in a graphic art workshop. In one of the upper alleys of medieval Štanjel, where an ethnological collection is displayed in the Karst House, children can see the traditional basket-weaving craft products, a common motif in Spacal's artworks. After a short walk, they will visit the Lojze Spacal Gallery, located in the castle. During a kamishibai performance, they will learn about an anecdote about Spacal as an artist and a family man. They will look at Spacal’s paintings and graphic works, which can also serve as a basis for relief paintings.
