With a new bus service for cyclists, you can take a journey from Koper right into the heart of the Karst.
Every weekend during the summer season, from 18 July to 4 October, cyclists can use the free bus service running along the circular route Koper–Kozina–Lipica–Divača–Sežana–Štanjel–Sežana–Divača–Kozina–Koper.
As part of the international Medcycletour project, the Karst now benefits from a new link with Slovenian Istria via the ‘KoloBus’ – a special bus equipped with a trailer for bicycles. This free bus operates on a circular route that starts in Koper. The bus will make a round journey twice a day. It departs from the main bus station in Koper at 8.00 and 17.00. Reservations are not required.
The cycling trails in the Karst will surprise you with their magnificent views and indulge your senses with all the pristine nature, breath-taking karst phenomena and cultural sights—each speaking of life in the Karst in their own way. Anyone, whether cyclists up for a real challenge or those who are more of a recreational biker, not to mention families, can set off on a memorable ride across the Karst.
